Mission to Romania 2023

Our time in Romania for the second time as a family with myself, my husband David, and our children was full of a lifetime of memories. Being a part of the Youth for Christ camp helped our family interact in sowing the gospel message for generations to come in young tweens and teens. Our time in Satu Mare seeing the work done in propagating the gospel was a humble site to see. Our children interacted with the Roma children and shared the love of Jesus physically by playing and through conversation. All our hosts who provided dinner on some nights were lovely and it was a great time of fellowship to be encouraged in continuing the work of the Lord near and far.

One Particular memory was visiting one of the Roma villages in Satu Mare; my children and I started singing songs with the other children and their mothers. The Roma children and parents were so excited and happy, they got up sang along and even did the movements to songs like, “read your bible, pray every day”. A simple yet powerful song, that reminded them to first know Jesus loves them and wants a personal relationship with them and then to also read their bible and pray every day so they can grow in the Lord. Today marks a week since you guys graced us with your presence here in Satu Mare. You made such a big impact to our communities. This was our first time to host such a big team of 16 people 4 children included. We hesitated to host you because we work with very little sponsorship.  Thanks for bringing with you Vasile Firu and Grancea Stefan from Brasov to assist us. You blessed us so much by your coming. It is one thing to speak and pray from a distance but when you visited us and prayed with us, we were all encouraged by your words and your presence. At first, I was not sure if you would mind serving poor communities like ours, because it’s not something that appeals to everyone. But to our surprise you seemed to enjoy serving and ministering to us. And our Simona Pop ‘s church helped us with a venue to meet up and pray together. Their church really blessed us, and we felt connected and loved.

We thank God for sending you here. Your whole team was easy to work with even on some very challenging situations, they availed themselves. We also thank God for bringing Peter to interpret for us into Hungarian. I really enjoyed being with you and enjoyed your spiritual gifts too. There was a big shift in the atmosphere. All was orchestrated by God, and we will see you again when you come back, and we will be more experienced.
